The church pews are packed every Sunday filled with people eager to learn more about God. Programs to give food, clothing, and hygiene products to the community are well attended. Let's face it, you know how to do ministry well. But is your ministry effective? How can you take what you are currently doing to the next level? Building an Effective Ministry: Ministry Assessment is a DIG DEEP Workshop series designed to help ministries develop ministry outcomes aligned with their mission statements, create strategic plans that include well-defined goals, objectives, and methods of assessment, and understand how assessment can be used to develop a more effective ministry. After 3 sessions in this series, participants will have set ministry outcomes, an individualized strategic plan for their ministry, and a plan of assessment. Dr. Aljoe serves as an administrator at a private institution where part of her role is strategic planning for a department. She has over 7 years of experience leading assessment efforts that have led to institutional changes in policies and procedures, major grant funding, and increased student retention. Dr. Aljoe believes the practice of assessment in higher education can be transferred to ministries looking to be more effective in their outreach, funding, and member retention.
